Private Splendor

Charming cottage with unique oceanfront view of islands, a lighthouse and the open ocean providing one of the most picturesque views that you will ever find on the Maine coast. Situated in a very secluded setting, a relaxing atmosphere awaits you in this comfortable three bedroom beach front cottage.

This one-of-a-kind property is located in the private community of Indian Point, which provides you with access to several private sandy beaches and miles of nature trails along marshes, tidal sand flats, beautiful rocks with spectacular views as well as a boat launch and guest moorings on a sheltered bay. From the spacious front deck enjoy the waves, sailboats and working lobster boats. At night, you will be relaxed by the sound of the surf, the smell of the ocean air and looking at the moon reflecting on the water.

Most guests will stay at Indian Point for its feeling of a remote island retreat while others can take a ten minute drive to the miles of beautiful beaches and sand dunes at Reid State Park or the picturesque quaint fishing village of Five Islands. On the wharf at Five Islands enjoy a delicious dinner of your favorite seafood while watching the boats go in and out of the harbor. On the Island of Georgetown you will find a marina, general store, three restaurants, two lobster and clam shacks and a farm stand with fresh local vegetable as well as gourmet foods.

A twenty minute drive up Route 127 is the historic city of Bath with its rich maritime history and several old sea captain homes. While in Bath visit the Maine Maritime Museum as well as many stores, wonderful shops and more fine restaurants. The American Planning Association has designated Bath's Front Street as one of the country's top 10 'Great Streets.'

A forty five minute drive from this cottage is the outlet shopping in Freeport, home of LL Bean's flagship store. Antiquing is available thirty minutes away in Wiscasset. For day trips you will want to visit Boothbay Harbor where you can board one of many boats for cruising, whale watching and deep sea fishing. Also, you will want to visit the Old Port District in Portland . . . both are one hour away.
