Beautiful views of the Maine coast from the front porch. The cottage faces Fort Popham and is located where the Kennebec River meets the Atlantic Ocean. Enjoy gorgeous sunsets from the screened-in porch. Peace and solitude can be found here or enjoy the sunshine at the small beach just a 5-minute stroll. The cottage looks across to Gilbert Head on Long Island. Gilbert Head was home to artist, Stephen Etnier. His wife Betsy published her account of these years, "On Gilbert Head", in 1937.
For those who want to explore other parts of Georgetown, take a 10-minute drive to the beautiful beaches and sand dunes at Reid State Park or the quaint fishing village at Five Islands. On the wharf at Five Islands enjoy a delicious shore dinner of lobsters and clams while watching the boats go in and out of the harbor. On the island of Georgetown (connected by a bridge) you will find a country store, two restaurants, marina and a farm stand with fresh local produce, cheeses, wines and much more.
The cottage has a full kitchen: microwave, range, coffee maker, toaster, refrigerator. A lovely furnished screen porch. WIFI. There is a 3/4 bath with shower and two bedrooms. The master bedroom has a queen bed and the second bedroom has 1 full bed and 2 single beds. The cottage will accommodate 2-6 people.
